Position Summary

The Estimator, is responsible for quoting the projected total cost build-up to manufacture /fabricate a customer’s product, by utilizing factors like labor needs, materials, and outside processes.

ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS
  • Analyzes customer drawings, blueprints and projected plans, to determine price and lead time to manufacture parts by date requested by customer
  • Reviews past quotes and job history on previously quoted or made parts and gives current pricing and delivery
  • Input the calculated costs into the GSS Estimate system to create estimate routers or estimate B.O.M.’s (Bill of Materials)
  • Talk to customers, vendors, engineers, etc. to obtain any and all information required (materials cost, equipment time, labor time, etc.) for completing the estimate
  • Obtain proper approvals on pricing structures if necessary
  • Communicate cost estimates, lead times, tooling charges, etc. to appropriate parties (customers and internal departments) as necessary
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2-year college degree preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents
  • Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in machine shop and/or sheet metal fabrication. Must have extensive knowledge of methods, tooling, materials and hardware required to manufacture parts
  • Must have strong knowledge of local and national suppliers and outside vendors
  • Effectively communicate with customers, engineers and outside vendors, as well as shop personnel
  • Proficient knowledge of current costing of hardware, materials, outside processes, etc. needed to manufacture parts
  • Pro/E and other CAD Software Preferred
  • ISO-9001:2000 and TL9000
  • Knowledge to inspect and ensure attention to detail and quality

Process/Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing the technical manufacturing processes for product being fabricated through the shop. The Process Engineer implements and reviews the procedures and equipment involved in the Manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support manufacturing Operations
  • Develop and implement improved methods of manufacturing, procedures and processes that result in improved efficiencies, yield, machine operations and quality
  • Implement project or improvement plans for areas of responsibility including but not limited: efficiency improvements, cost reduction and quality improvement programs, new product support and other process improvements
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Review and calculate labor, material and other production cost along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirement needed for the manufacturing process
  • Ensure that company’s manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations
  • Work with equipment vendors to sustain and enhance equipment performance from both a process and a tool standpoint
  • Help to set up systems of control in the use of storage of tooling and fixtures within the manufacturing departments
  • Audits the manufacturing departments on the proper use of systems of control
  • Evaluate quality control process and make recommendations for improvements in quality control
  • Responsible for ensuring that all MRB issues are resolved to a satisfactory non-recurring conclusion

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent combined education/experience
  • Minimum 5 years of precision metal fabricating or related field and 3 years as a Process Manufacturing Engineer required with a proven track record

Account Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

This individual will act as a customer liaison who handles all customer relations, maintaining and building existing customer accounts to higher levels of production and acts as the Initial Contact Person responsible for developing new business opportunities in both standard production and Quickturn areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Customer contact person for all existing customer inquiries regarding pending work, work in–process, and completed orders.
  • Obtains prints and all necessary documentation for the Estimating Department.
  • Evaluates pricing, and books discrete orders for customers.
  • Responds to potential customer inquiries about products and services following established procedures.
  • Works with Production Control group to track and monitor orders through the shop, relaying status to customers.
  • Evaluates orders with regard to workflow currently being processed.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with customers.
  • Develops new business through use of personal customer list for networking in various industries.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Quality Inspector

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs product audits and part inspection in a variety of different departments and Inspection functions, including Receiving, First Piece, First Article, Plot Inspection, In-process, MRB, Calibration Inspection, Hardware Assembly and Ink Stamp Inspection, Prototype, and Final Inspection.

Essential Job Functions
  • Read and interpret materials, such as workorders, inspection manuals, and blueprints, to determine inspection method.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, integrating lean and Six Sigma.
  • Record, analyze, and interpret, sample inspection data using basic hand tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers, pin gage, scales, etc.
  • Skilled is using MS Excel to identify trends, create charts and present data.
  • Able to perform all the various functions in the Quality Department through cross training.
  • Experienced in SPC implementation, data collection, charting and training.
  • Perform PPAP’s, control plans, FMEA, Gage R & R.
  • Complete necessary documents to satisfy acceptance or rejection decisions.

Laser Operator A

POSITION SUMMARY

This position requires advanced knowledge of laser set-up and operational procedures for running a variety of sheet metal parts requiring precision cutting and machining.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Be able to set-up and operate a precision laser machine.
  • Must be able to read prints and do layout work.
  • Check jobs running to determine the quality of the piece.
  • Downloads part programs, and has the ability to edit and make adjustments (change of cut conditions, etc) to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Sets gas mixtures for specific types of metals. Determines raw materials needed for each product run.
  • Performs specific maintenance tasks to ensure proper operation of the laser.
  • May Assist Laser Lead or Supervisor in the training of less experienced operators.
  • Responsible to know and enforce all Company and Safety rules and regulations, providing suggestions for improvement to quality and safety as they are identified.

Brake Operator A

POSITION SUMMARY

Run / bend parts on brake press to meet blueprint specifications, keeping up with production schedules and meeting quality requirements. Set-up procedures on simple to moderately complex part runs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Bend parts utilizing brake equipment, assuring quality and productivity.
  • Spot-check quality of work by periodically using measuring equipment and visual inspection.
  • May begin to learn set-up procedures on simple to moderately complex parts.
  • Keep up with traveler and paperwork flow by logging number of parts run to specification.
  • Responsible to know and enforce all safety rules and regulations. Provide suggestions for improvement to safety and quality as they are identified.

Hardware A

POSITION SUMMARY

Use various machines, air tools, and hand tools to insert hardware into sheet metal components. May include assembling piece parts into larger assemblies, and working in an assembly line meeting production schedules and quality requirements. May perform similar and additional duties in Royse Assembly. May Assist Assembly Lead in training of less experienced employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Efficient, accurate assembly of materials and parts per customer specifications utilizing department associated equipment such as Milford Rivet machines, Pop-Rivet guns, and assorted hand tools.
  • Count parts going out of the assembly area to ensure accuracy. Perform physical inventory of assembly area by counting parts.
  • Correctly package parts to reduce damage during shipment. Ensure proper paperwork accompanies all jobs by checking part numbers and revisions.
  • Work with the Quality department to assure all parts are being run to specification.
  • Responsible to know and enforce all company safety rules and regulations, quality standards and processes. Provide suggestions for improvement to safety and quality as they are identified.
  • Perform periodic housekeeping in the dept., and cleaning of machines to ensure efficient operation.
  • In the Royse Department, may also perform the following tasks: Perform touch-up work on units or piece parts; Run leak tests on tanks; Perform final inspection on units shipped to customers; Pack and wrap cabinets and piece parts for shipment.
